"Genersys Ireland and our website visitors have been very pleased with the way that the team at K-Point has evolved our site over the last couple of years.
The fact that our customer management system now sits at the centre of the whole solution greatly simplifies the management of the business as a whole, from initial contact with a potential lead through to the successful installation of their solar water heating system."
David Cooper Director, Genersys Ireland
"Genersys Ireland has become the leading solar business in Ireland and a key part of David Cooper’s success is the way that he has been able to use the Internet with K-Point’s expertise to increase and manage the significantly growing business in Ireland."

Genersys Ireland is the Irish distributor for Genersys plc, distributing solar panel technology and solar water heating applications throughout Ireland. The company also provides sales, distribution, installation and customer support services for the Genersys range of solar water heating systems.
Scenario
Genersys Ireland have had a website since it was established in 2003, but in 2005 director David Cooper needed to overhaul the site. He wanted an increased emphasis on keeping the content fresh, in terms of recent project information as well as related news.
With the increasing volumes of enquiries coming from the site, he also realised that he needed a centralised solution to manage the leads, as well as the resultant customers and their varying enquiries and needs
Key Objectives
From the early stages of the formation of Genersys Ireland, they recognised that company presentation, company marketing and company sales were all going to be driven increasingly by the visibility of the company on the Internet. They recognised that it was important to partner with a professional team that had specific expertise in the field of site design and Internet marketing and promotion.
- Provide a means to maintain project information and related news items on the website
- Establish quick and easy methods of keeping in touch with potential and existing customers
- Implement a centralised solution for managing and tracking leads and customer projects
- Have the capability of accessing client information from any remote location
Solution
K-Point delivered a new website design and complementary content-management system comprising the following components:
- Website serves customised content to UK and Irish visitors
- Genersys staff can quickly and easily add descriptions and photos of recent projects
- Staff can maintain a database of both internally-written and externally-sourced news items
- A list of newsletter subscribers is maintained automatically via the website, and newsletters can be drafted regularly and delivered to this subscriber base in a Genersys-branded email
- Search engine optimisation and pay-per-click campaign
- Customer management system to track leads through to completion of projects
Success
Since the website was overhauled with a fresh, easy-to-navigate design and the ability to keep the content up-to-date week by week, the volume of visitors has risen dramatically. Genersys is in complete control of getting visitors to their site, managing initial contact with leads through to securing projects, and ultimately successfully completing solar installations. They also have all data relating to past and current lead and customer activity to aid with future sales and marketing planning.
- Website traffic increased more than fourfold since January 2006.
- Website enquiries converting to sales has risen from 1 in 10 to 1 in 6.
- £150k of sales have been generated directly from site enquiries.
David Cooper, director of Genersys Ireland says:
“K-Point were able to help us achieve our goal of driving the right customers to our site while also enabling our company to evolve and grow by incorporating new CRM systems into our business that enabled us to manage changing customer needs and a rapidly increasing customer base.” |
