"I know we need to change things, but where do I start?!"
Having recognised that you need to make changes to your business to boost efficiency and improve overall performance is one step, but most people need some help to analyse the existing environment and processes and identify exactly what needs to change, and how.
The next problem may be establishing the costs associated with such a project, and that can be a time-consuming exercise. However, in order to get accurate costs from software developers such as K-Point, and related costs from other suppliers, it is vital to prepare a detailed specification of the system requirements. Our team can help at each stage.
After an initial meeting to determine the feasibility of the project, and how suitable it is for our team, we will normally recommend a technical consultancy phase where one of our design engineers will visit your premises to familiarise us with the current environment and processes. They will identify the bottlenecks and areas where inefficiences are causing delays and errors. From there we can suggest process improvements, and then highlight how we suggest improving these.
At the end of this exercise, which may last from one to several days depending on the complexity of the project, we will deliver a specification document which will enable both ourselves, and other companies who are asked to tender for the project, to prepare more detailed solutions and accurate costs to progress the to the next stage.
The solution may be complex as completely replacing existing systems and processes with a bespoke application specific to your requirements, or it may be as simple as introducing third-party applications to fulfil particular roles within the existing system. Some of these are highlighted below.
In the course of our projects, both for clients and in-house, we have identified several third-party applications which fulfil core business activities extremely well, and which can be integrated into businesses without having to completely reinvent the wheel. We have listed some of the key web applications below, and there as many, many more.
As is commonly said regarding Apple's iPhone, our standard approach is to first look to see if "there's an app for that!".
